Science with a little Christmas

This was one of my favorite projects for the kids. It takes a few steps but they turn out so pretty.

Ty finished his and then helped Apollo finish up.  He is soooo funny and sweet.

The kids always beg to say hi to Max and Molly (neighbor's dog).  So, during snack time, they go over and talk to my neighbor and her dogs.

Crafts turned out cute.  The kids liked decorating the stockings.

The kids brought "hidden messages" from their homefun (written with lemon juice).  We put them in the oven at a low temp. and watched as they appeared.

We flew airplanes for another science experiment (Physics).  They had a competition to see who could fly them the farthest-go Donny!  I think this is one of the first time making and flying these-fun.

Another science experiment we did:  we put water in a cup and talked about why some of the water will be missing in our next class.  Deacon guessed the ocean and Apollo guessed the sun.  All of the kids had fun answers.  After each science experiment, the kids would "take notes" in the little lab write out I made them:)

They look like stained glass.

For music time, we sang songs about Turkeys, Pilgrims, and Indians.  Last week the kids made collages of things they are thankful for.  We have talked about the first Thanksgiving and read stories about Thanksgiving.  Hopefully this helps to make the Thanksgiving season more meaningful.
